Du 22 avril au 6 mai prochain, trois nouvelles expositions seront en montre à la Galerie Sans Nom. Dans la salle principale, The Artifact Institute présentera Enquête 1. L’espace audio-vidéo accueillera un programme vidéo proposé par le commissaire Mario Doucette et dans la Salle Sans Sous on pourra voir le travail d ‘Alisa Arsenault. Le vernissage aura lieu le vendredi 22 avril à partir de 20h. Une conférence d’artiste sera prononcée par les artistes de l’Artifact Institute.
La Galerie Sans Nom, l’espace audio/vidéo et la Salle Sans Sous sont situés au rez-de-chaussée du Centre culturel Aberdeen, 140, rue Botsford, à Moncton. L’entrée aux expositions est gratuite et les espaces sont ouverts du mardi au vendredi, de 11 h à 17 h et le samedi sur rendez-vous.
The Espace Audio Vidéo will be presenting Sadie Benning: Selected Works, a video program curated by Moncton-based artist Mario Doucette. Doucette has selected works that are considered to fall outside of aesthetic norms and that do not obey predefined rules. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1973, video artist and musician Sadie Benning came of age in the art world in the early 90s. Her video tapes are experimental exposés that were made with the Fisher Price Pixelvision camera that her father, experimental filmmaker James Benning, had given her. Also she is a former member of the band Le Tigre, whom Benning is known for her bold and brazen style.
Galerie Sans Nom will be presenting three new exhibitions running from April 22 to May 6, 2011. The main gallery will feature Investigation 1: Electronic equipment discarded by arts and cultural organizations in the Halifax Regional Municipality, a performative installation by The Artifact Institute. The Espace Audio Vidéo will feature Sadie Benning: Selected Works, a video program curated by Mario Doucette and the Salle Sans Sous will feature Ainsi soit-il, a body of photographs and sound work by Alisa Arsenault of Moncton. The exhibitions' opening will be held on Friday, April 22, starting with an artist talk at 8 PM by the Artifact Institute followed by a curatorial talk by Mario Doucette.
