Symphony New Brunswick is excited to continue our collaborations with the Beaverbrook Art Gallery and CollectionARTNB. We will be featuring art from New Brunswick collections projected on screen during our May concert, “Future Promises.”
Francis Poulenc's “Two Marches and an Interlude” will be paired with New Brunswick artist, Mario Doucette’s “1755 (Se réfugier dans la forêt II/ Take Refuge in the Forest II).” Both works evoke a playful narrative of taking refuge in the woods amongst the colourful flowers of spring. Some moments have a cheerful quality, like a glorious promenade, while others suggest something more sinister in the depths of the trees.
